Product Details

This is a rare and wonderful vintage scarf advertising tourist attractions in the Province of Quebec.  It features English versions of well known Quebec locations - Lac St Jean is “Lake St John” and Ile d’Orléans is “Island of Orleans”.   The scarf has illustrations demonstrating industry important to Quebec such as mining, lumber, paper, agriculture and small industries such as textile weaving, baking and maple syrup production.  Hotels, such as Hotel Tadoussac and Manoir Richelieu are represented as is the Indian reserve at Caughnawaga (now Kahnawake).  The scarf measures 25” square and has a pulled fringe.  The fabric is either a wool challis or a wool/rayon blend.  It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, staining, odour or fading.  I believe that the scarf dates to the 1930s, but it might be a little later, maybe 1940s.

This is a rare collectible scarf - great acquisition for someone interested in the history of Quebec and a fun display piece!
